Peepee in the Potty makes me happy

Last night I decided that I would give potty training a go.  My almost two year old is very indipendent and hard headed, so go figure how that  is going to turn out.  Well I sat on the bathroom floor with a claymask on so I can keep the kid entertained and after almost a half hour of waiting, it finally happened, the child peed in the pot.  I have to say that besides watching your child take their first steps, peeing in the toilet is one of the most wonderful feelings you can experience.  Wow!  What a rush, I was so happy, so I made it out to be a big production, dancing, singing, clapping.  I hope that tonight he will do the same.  Honestly I almost gave up on training him, I was hoping that someday he would just come to me and say take me to the bathroom, we all know that that will never happen.  So, I take  this is going to be a long journey, I hear that boys are more difficult than girls.  I think the key to potty training is to keep the child entertained when sitting on their chair, that is the only way they can sit long enough to do what they need to do.  For all you parents out there, do not get frustrated, children do not do well under pressure, relax, and stay calm eventually it will happen.
