Five signs of a pending nervous breakdown
We all suffer from everyday stresses. Some of us handle stress better than others. When too much is stirring about in someones head, it takes a toll on them emotionally and physically. As humans, our bodies are meant to automatically stress releave during the hours of slumber, however, when overwhelmed by day to day problems and ponders, our bodies and minds become overstimulated and cannot function properly. Everyone has had sleepless nights, weather it be before a job interview, a big date, someone’s death, depression, whatever keeps us thinking around the clock. Normally we would be able to just get over this in a few days, but when too much is too much, the mind can sometimes snap, creating a catastrophical explosion of emotions, erratic behavior and speech. When our bodies have pushed the point of mental and physical exhaustion due to a non properly working stress relief mechanism, we are staring into the eyef of a nervous breakdow. We all know that stress, depression, eating disorders go hand in hand, but here are five most common symptoms of a nervous breakdown that is related to a mental breakdown as well:
1. Constant crying for no reason and or thinking your life is a mess and wish it were over.
2. Anger, directed to one person but not specific of what the cause may be. Often times we just are angry and standoffish toward the people we are the closest to.
3. Dropping everything and walking out of the room or the door because you rather be alone. Often times for more than one day, if you are married, you contemplate divorce/separation. If you have children, you want to leave them to someone because you cannot handle them.
4.Physically and verbally abusive. Usually constant verbal abuse and the need to strike someone physically is a sign to a brakdown.
5. Changes in social behavior. A major sign of a breakdown is pretty much having an introverts behavior. Cutting yourself off from your friends because you rather be alone. Not wanting to do simple chores, not even taking care of your personal grooming.
These may also seem like symptoms of depression, however, the bottom line is depression leads to nervous/mental breakdown and so on. If you or any of your friends experience any of these symptoms and should feel that you cannot see through the dark period in your life, PLEASE GET HELP. Counceling is a must, most insurances cover counseling sessions, if you do not have insurance tell someone you need help.
