When ID theft happenes to you…..
I recently received a phone call from my credit card company. They wanted to verify if I recently had applied for a Circuit City credit card online. Of course I did not! Well the lady on the other end had informed me that someone had just tried to open up a fradulent account, and since Chase is linked to many major stores, they called to verify and of course rejected that application. Days later I received a phone call from my other Credit Union credit card, and they informed me that someone tried to charge on my credit card. Because my credit card does not have my current address but that of my parents, the low life scum that stole my info got declined because he/she did not have the correct info. Serves them right, piece of S*** thieves, I dare you steal my identity. To make a long story short, I froze my three major credit Bureaus accounts which are: Expirian, Transunion and Equifax, reported my case to the Federal Trade Comission 1877-ID-Theft and contacted all my accounts, so I could close them. So I so far am lucky because every attempt these SOB’s made pretty much failed, but you may not be so lucky, I limit my credit cards to only two, a Visa and a MC, I always check my activities and I never give my SS # to anyone, this must have been a security breech problem somewhere in the past. Watch your back and always be one step ahead of the thief, I recently signed up for identity monitoring through my bank, it cost me $ 12.00 a month but at least I am a little safer. Don’t be naive, start researching your own financial profiles for your own security, I never thought this could happen to me, and it did!
