Britney takes over the VMA’s
I like the girl, not a fan of her music, however, she is talented. So as I tuned in to the show my mind was set on her winning several awards. Not because she produced anything of good quality this past year, but because the pity vote would set in for many of the voters. Let’s face it, Brit-Brit has been out of the limelight for a long time, her song “Give me more” was ok, sounded like the rest of them, but I guess by awarding her three times, a much needed come back was wished. It is just so sad to think that other artists that poured their hearts and soul out this past year were pretty much cast aside so she could win her award. I truly doubt Britney would have been enraged if she were not recognized. She is a big girl, she knows that she has not been the best of anything in these past few years. She herself was shocked everytime she won an award, I’m not sure that these pity votes are necessarily gonna help her on this long road to recovery, if anything, they give her false hope, almost sad to think that these votes are not based on merit. It’s a true pity to be pitied, I guess this is Hollywood for you, nothing is really based on talent and performance, just popularity and emotions. As for Britney, I wish her well, but cannot congratulate her on something she did not earn.
